The Tin Man Project

synopsis

The Tin Man Project is a documentary about beating all odds for the sake of a dream. Barry is a performer who has surpassed his life expectancy since he was first diagnosed with a rare heart disease. In order to sing and perform on the stage, Barry has never accepted his limitations. In 2007, Barry was told he was going to need an eighth open-heart surgery. Cutting through 27 years of scar tissue left his chance of survival to a minimum. Barry decided to film his last days with his family and along the way, he discovered the healing abilities of love and laughter. Using this concept, he created a foundation to raise money for children in heart failure. The film is told through Barry's one-man show that he created to tell his story.
